- Protection of Sensitive Components

Automotive parts, ranging from delicate electronic sensors and semi-conductors to heavy engine blocks, require specialized handling.

Precision Fit:plastic pallets are injection-molded, ensuring consistent dimensions. This is vital for automated robotic arms that expect a pallet to be in an exact position within millimeters.

Damage Prevention: Plastic pallets are free of nails, splinters, and jagged edges that could scratch Class-A surfaces (like body panels) or puncture packaging.

Static Dissipation: For electronic control units (ECUs) and EV battery components, specialized ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) plastic pallets are used to prevent static buildup that could fry sensitive circuitry.

Modern automotive manufacturing relies heavily on AS/RS (Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems).

  • Weight Consistency: Plastic pallets have a constant tare weight because they do not absorb moisture. This allows sensors on conveyors and scales to operate without constant recalibration.

  • Interface Compatibility: They can be designed with specific “pockets” or locking mechanisms to secure custom dunnage (protective cradles) that hold specific parts like crankshafts or transmissions in place during transit.
